Why did the Tampa Bay Lightning trade Dustin Tokarski last week?
The Canadiens have obtained Tokarski from the Lightning in exchange for fellow goaltender Cedrick Desjardins, the team's official site reports.
Tokarski, whose contract expires at the end of this season, is working hard to earn a new deal and has generally impressed the Lightning's goalie coach, reports Tampa Bay Times.
Tokarski's performance in the Calder Cup Championship may have earned him a legitimate shot as the Lightning's back-up for next season.
Tokarski's hot hand has helped carry the Norfolk Admirals to the AHL Eastern Conference championship and a chance to win the Calder Cup Championship.
